The Difference Between Fuser Film Sleeve And Fuser Roller

Fuser roller has one or two heating elements (hologen lamps) inside to generate heat and transfer to the toner to melt and bond on the paper.
Fuser film sleeve has a piece of ceramic bar to release heat and transfer via the fuser film sleeve to the toner.

Fuser roller features high power consumption, slow preheating, but has long lifespan. Conversely, fuser film sleeve features low power consumption, fast preheating but wear resistance not good as fuser roller.

Process Of Applying Grease in Fuser Film Sleeves

Fuser grease is made of silicone oil for lubrication, and it also has excellent performance at thermal conductivity to assist fuser film sleeve to conduct the fusing process. Just like other laser printer parts, we need to replace the grease with use and time, proper operation is very important to be careful when installing, otherwise your fuser film sleeve will be damaged and scrapped totally. Hope the following instruction can be of help to you. Step 1. Detach the fuser assembly and remove the used fuser film. Step 2. Use alcohol to clean the surface of heating element. Step 3. Use soft spatula to scoop up grease from the container, total applying amount is around 1 gram. Step 4. Replacing Fuser Assembly For HP LaserJet P2055 - Part 2: Reassemble The Fuser Unit

Previous part we talked about disassemble the fuser unit on the HP LaserJet P2005, this time I'd like to show you how to reassemble this component. As I showed you last time, there're so many screws need to remove before you can access the fuser assembly, and conversely we need to fix them one by one on the machine after replacement, so that will take you some time to do finish.
